Every year at Versatile Fitness we are summoned by a few of our warriors to help in the battle against breast cancer. We grab our pink tank tops, pull up our high pink socks and tighten our pink bandannas around our foreheads. Our “pink” workouts are known for being some of the most intense, bad ass workouts of the year. Some say it is because of the huge fundraising bake sale we host after class, others say it’s because the trainers just love wearing head to toe pink outfits. You’ll have to decide for yourself.
The mission when opening the gym was not just to create the greatest, most efficient workout, but more importantly to build an amazing community of people. If you’re a regular member at Versatile Fitness, you are treated as family and we pride ourselves on fostering that kind of environment. So when a member brings up a special cause, one that affects them deeply, we all join forces and go to battle.
There is a large number of VF members that participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 – day walk and pledge to raise awareness year round. The positive, supporting environment we have inside the gym spreads much further outside of it, and that’s one of the things I’m most proud of. We raffle off some incredible prizes all month long and cap off our efforts with a huge, donation-only beach workout. We all head down to the South Mission jetty for a sandy, salty VF style beach workout!
100% of all proceeds we raise go towards the fight for a cure. If you wish to contribute, feel free to do so here.
The next VF Breast Cancer Beach Workout will take place on October 1, 2017, at 10 AM in South Mission Beach.
